We are delighted to share an important new step in our culinary journey. Aroleid Restaurant is evolving into a private dining and culinary atelier, personally led by Chef Marian Podola — the founder of The Private Chef and creator of Zermatt’s Michelin-recognised culinary experiences under former Zermatt Kollektiv AG.


Private Dining Only – Intimate, Refined, and Personal

From this winter onward, Aroleid Restaurant will open exclusively for private bookings, transforming the space into an intimate setting for bespoke dining experiences. Each menu will be individually designed, cooked, and served by Marian Podola and his trusted team of chefs who have worked alongside him across several Michelin-listed restaurants.

Every event becomes a one-of-a-kind event — a celebration of ingredients, technique, and story. Expect a seamless flow between Alpine and global influences, with a strong focus on fire cooking, fermentation, and modern French fusion techniques, all paired with coffee roasted in-house at Zermatt Kaffee.


Michelin-Listed Legacy & Modern Direction

Since 2020, Aroleid has been part of the Guide Michelin Switzerland, recognised for its dedication to good cooking at moderate prices, quality, craftsmanship, and creativity.
This new direction allows us to build upon that legacy while shifting towards more personalized, immersive dining — an experience that blends fine cuisine with warmth and connection.


Culinary Experiences Beyond the Table

At Aroleid, food is only the beginning. The restaurant now serves as a hub for culinary education and discovery, hosting:

  • Cooking Classes for Adults & Kids – from French Classics to Butchery of Game and Vietnamese–Thai Fusion

  • Comprehensive Culinary Workshops – seasonal classes exploring modern gastronomy and ethical sourcing

  • Private Chef Events & Pairings – collaborative Chef Guest dinners featuring wines from Smith & Smith and other Alpine producers

  • Coffee Roasting Sessions – guided tastings of Zermatt Kaffee 

All experiences can be booked privately or combined with The Private Chef’s other lifestyle offerings, including ready-meal service, drop-off dining, and more.
