Aroleid Restaurant
Private Dining & Culinary Atelier — under new management this winter in Zermatt.
Dear Friends and Guests,
This winter, Aroleid Restaurant reopens under the management of Chef Marian Podola — founder of The Private Chef — together with Simon Russin, his partner from Haus zur Brücke and already a season into the Aroleid kitchen. We're carrying forward a simple idea: cooking that is personal, precise, and rooted in where we are.
Private dining and small dinners
From this winter, Aroleid opens for private bookings and small public dinners. Menus are designed, cooked, and served by Marian, Simon, and a team of chefs they have worked alongside in several kitchens. The cooking draws on Alpine and global influences, with a focus on fire, fermentation, and modern French technique. Coffee comes from Zermatt Kaffee, roasted in-house on the ground floor of the same building.
Recognition
Aroleid held the Michelin Bib Gourmand from 2020 to 2022 and remains listed in the Guide Michelin Switzerland. The new direction builds on that foundation while moving toward more personal, hands-on dining.
Beyond the table
The restaurant also hosts cooking classes for adults and children — from French classics to game butchery to Vietnamese–Thai cooking — alongside seasonal workshops, chef-guest dinners with wines from Smith & Smith and other Alpine producers, and coffee tastings from Zermatt Kaffee. These can be booked on their own or combined with The Private Chef's other services, including ready meals and drop-off dining.
Sourcing
We choose suppliers and methods deliberately, from electric transport within Zermatt to long-standing relationships with growers and producers who work the way we do.
We're now taking private dining reservations and workshop enquiries for the coming winter. Fill out the booking form and we'll send you a proposal for your event.
With warm regards, Aroleid Restaurant, Simon Russin & Marian Podola
